This is a parable taught by Jesus:

“The Kingdom of Heaven is like a king who wanted to make sure all his servants had paid back the money they owed him.

One servant owed him a very large amount of money — millions of dollars. But he could not pay it back. So the king ordered that the man, his wife, and his children be sold as slaves to pay the debt.

The servant fell on his knees and begged, ‘Please be patient with me! I will pay it all back.’

The king felt sorry for him. He decided to forgive the man and cancel all his debt.

But when that servant went out, he found another servant who owed him only a small amount — just a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him and said, ‘Pay me back now!’

The other servant fell to his knees and begged, ‘Please be patient with me! I will pay you soon.’

But the first servant refused. He had the man thrown into prison until he could pay everything back.
