Benny was a little squirrel who loved to collect acorns. He ran up and down the trees every day, gathering food for winter.
One morning, Benny heard a soft chirp. He looked around and saw a small bluebird on the ground. The bird, named Pip, had hurt her wing and couldn’t fly.
Benny wanted to keep collecting acorns, but Pip looked sad. Benny knew he had to help. He brought soft leaves and twigs to make a little bed for Pip. Every day, he brought her food and kept her company.
After a few days, Pip’s wing got better. She flapped her wings and flew high into the sky. “Thank you, Benny! You are very kind!” she chirped.
Winter came, and Benny didn’t have as many acorns as before. But one day, Pip and her bird friends came back. They brought berries and seeds for Benny!
Benny smiled. He had helped Pip, and now she was helping him.
