James sat alone in his dimly lit apartment, staring at the endless emails piling up on his laptop screen. Deadlines loomed, his phone buzzed with unanswered messages, and his mind felt like a storm he couldn’t calm. He sighed, rubbing his temples. The pressure was suffocating.

One evening, he decided to take a walk. It had been months since he allowed himself a break. As he stepped outside, the cool breeze brushed against his face, and for the first time in a while, he breathed deeply. He walked to the park nearby, watching children laugh and dogs chase after frisbees. Something about their carefree energy made his burden feel lighter.

James sat on a bench, listening to the rustling leaves. He closed his eyes and let go of his worries, if only for a moment. The world didn’t end because he took a break.

That night, he made a decision—he would set boundaries, ask for help, and take care of himself. Stress would always be there, but he didn’t have to let it consume him.

For the first time in a long while, James felt a glimmer of peace.
