A refugee is someone who is forced to flee their home country to escape persecution or a serious threat to their life, physical integrity or freedom. This may be linked to their race, religion, nationality, political beliefs or membership of a social group.

The remaining individuals are some 22,470 refugees and asylum-seekers from 50 countries fleeing war and persecution, including some 6,040 Pakistanis, 3,190 Yemenis, 2,850 Somalis, 2,840 Afghans, 2,790 Syrians, 1,150 Sri Lankans, 600 Palestinians, 570 Iraqis, and others.

Many people partner together to help the refugee :
“ When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. The foreigner residing
among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners
in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”
