A man was leaving home to travel to another place. Before he left, he talked with his servants. He told them to take care of his money while he was away.

The man gave one servant 5,000 gold coins, another servant 2,000 gold coins, and the last servant 1,000 gold coins.

The servant with 5,000 coins went quickly to invest the money. He used it wisely and earned 5,000 more coins. The servant with 2,000 coins also invested his money and earned 2,000 more coins.

But the servant with 1,000 coins dug a hole in the ground. He put the money inside and hid it.

After a long time, the master came home. He asked the servants what they did with his money. The first servant said, “Master, you gave me 5,000 coins. I invested them and earned 5,000 more.”

The master was very happy. He said, “Well done! You are a good and faithful servant. Because you used a small amount well, I will trust you with greater things. Come and share my happiness.”
